How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie
Now comes the *real* reason for creating this blog, to give my thoughts on a book I finished not too long ago.
I'm not even sure when the first time was made aware of this book's ecistence, but I had no idea how.. prolific (?) book's life has been. I think the book was originally published in the 1930s sometime after Carnegie had already established himself as a successful program for business people teaching them how to achieve the same kind of success he's achieved.
Overall, the book does well.. I've applied some principles from the book in my life and some I've already been using. Many of the ideas in there book are relatively timeless.. I mean, he's dealing with human nature, so most of it seems straightforward once you read it.
It did get quite laughable when I got to the last chapter though when he started talking about what should be done during the marriage. While I am not yet married.. I can still see most of the last chapter is *quite* out of date.
Up next: Hitch-22, Christopher Hitchens' autobiography.
